Show row numbers in table view

Feedback from customer
Description:
Please add an option to display row numbers (1, 2, 3…) as the first column in table views.
This is not a record ID or an auto-number field. It should be a simple visual row index, not stored in the record, that always starts at 1 and follows the current sort and filter of the view.
Why:
When working with long lists, there is no way to tell where a record is in the list or to refer to it quickly ("check row 152"). Spreadsheets have this by default, and it is a basic tool for working with tables.
Proposal:
A toggle in the view options: "Show row numbers".
