Grouping with Accordions on Views
Source: twentyhq/twenty#20918 · opened by @kelvinkaifungchan
TLDR: It would be nice to have an easy way of "grouping" items and showing this clearly on the index views.
Use case: when viewing opportunities for example, it would be useful to have a function to group by companies when wanting to view all opportunities that are on-going/in progress. At the moment, it is possible to create different views or sort by but both don't provide a way to see all info in one go and to have a visually clear differentiation of groups of items when doing so.
Implementation approach:
Inspired by the display config implementation in Linear, a centralised toggle that can be used across all the index views. Has a simple drop down to select the property to "Group By" and potentially "Sub-Group by".
Once selected, the group by/subgroup by item appears as a block accordion header in the index view (list, kanban, calendar) so users can still see all items but it's easier to visually differentiate different groups.
