[Feature Request] Support for manipulating image files (.jpg, .png...) - crop and rotate

Source: paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx#12281 · opened by @ce603
Description

Currently, PDF documents support rotation and other edit operations, but these actions are greyed out for image-based documents (JPG, PNG, TIFF, etc.).

I'd like to see basic image manipulation extended to non-PDF file types, specifically:

Rotate — Scanned images frequently come in with incorrect orientation, and there's currently no way to fix this within the UI without downloading, editing externally, and re-uploading.
Crop — Useful for trimming scanner artifacts, margins, or irrelevant portions of a scanned image.

Related discussions for PDFs: #396, #6309, #6094, #7559 (all closed/locked). This request is specifically about extending manipulation support to image file types, which was not addressed by the PDF merge/split/rotate work in PR #6094.
