[Feature Request] Larger Document Preview

Description
Would be nice to have a mash up of the Documents view and the Open Document view. This would be similar to Windows Explorer "Preview Pane". Take the view once double clicked on a document where the details/content/metadata/etc are on the left and the document is on the right, but replace the left side with the file browser explorer and not have to "close" documents that are "open".
A slight variation would be enabling larger or smaller document thumbnails from the Documents page (again a la Windows Explorer --> View XL/L/M/S Icons). A further variation here would be changing preview thumbnails from square/rectangle grid to aspect ratio grid (a la iOS photos view options) - this would help with quickly identifying odd shaped documents and seeing the full text preview for those odd dimension documents.
The first part is similar is similar to #6447, #7343, and #8387 but for the documents page itself.
