[Feature Request] Add "Update existing document" option in PDF Editor

Source: paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx#13750 · opened by @Zebraman1337
Description

Description:
When modifying a document in the PDF Editor (for example, rotating pages), the current interface only offers two options: "Create new document" and "Add document version".

Please consider bringing back the old option to directly update the existing document. Additionally, please make this new action configurable as a default behavior in the settings.

Use Case / Justification:
While creating a new version or document makes sense for destructive actions like deleting pages, it creates unnecessary overhead for trivial edits like page rotations. Currently, rotating a misaligned page forces the user to either create duplicate documents (requiring manual deletion of the old one) or add a new version that bloats storage with unneeded historical revisions for minor tweaks.

Allowing a direct update for minor edits would streamline the cleanup workflow significantly.
