Visibility of notifications as first-class citizens in an activity feed
Source: outline/outline#7431 · opened by @almereyda
The hidden* notification feed contains useful information about the progress of collaboration with others. Unfortunately as it designed right now, the ephemeral messages will disappear, once the drawer of the feed is checked off in the top right and emptied for new notifications.
To provide auditability and accessibility in a collaborative writing environment like Outline, it could be very useful to provide layered activity feeds (per site, per collection, per document, per document-tree), in order to track each other's contributions.
Integration with optionally displaying and deep linking to historical diffs that caused a notification could be as useful as the email diffs we see today.
An advanced version of this could also allow to subscribe to changes and comments also when not contributing writing in a document.
