Include collectionId in webhook payloads

Source: outline/outline#14171 · opened by @max-mykhailenko
Could Outline include the parent document’s collectionId in comments.create and comments.update webhook payloads or another document related webhooks?

We process comment webhooks for selected collections using a service account whose access is limited to those collections.

The comment payload contains documentId, but no collectionId. To decide whether an event belongs to a supported collection, we first have to call documents.info.

For documents outside the service account’s access, this returns 403 authorization_error. The receiver cannot distinguish an unsupported collection from lost access to a supported document.

Please include collectionId in the signed webhook payload, for example as payload.collectionId, while preserving the existing fields.

This would let receivers filter and route events by collection before requesting document content. It would also avoid fetching collection trees or maintaining a separate document-to-collection index.
