Feature Request: True Offline Support for the Web App
Source: outline/outline#12582 · opened by @raihanameen
Hey team, loving Outline so far! I’ve been using the web app and noticed that while the editor itself handles offline edits really well, the rest of the app struggles if you load it up without an internet connection.
Currently, if I open the app offline, my document lists, collections, and sidebar don't load. Also, doing simple things like moving or renaming a document throws an error.
It would be amazing if Outline was fully "offline-first." Specifically:
Saving the sidebar and document lists locally so the app boots up instantly and looks fully populated even on an airplane.
Queueing offline actions (like renaming a document or creating a collection) in the background and automatically syncing them when the internet connection comes back.
Since there isn't a dedicated mobile app right now, making the web version bulletproof for offline mobile use would be incredibly helpful.
