Deep link resolution to point at sub-headlines

Source: outline/outline#7429 · opened by @almereyda
Why a generic content model for transcluding blocks does not exist yet, we sometimes provide deep links into our documents, by using the convenient copy-to-clipboard function of the character next to headlines.

While Outline already resolves https:// links to its own domain into internal links, it will always pick the title of the page as the title. In the case of deep links to headlines, the link URL will also include a hash fragment, which indicates the desired URL. Unfortunately up to the moment this is not picked up by the title generation logic of the paste URL handler, which resolves internal links.

This leads to deep links carrying the title of their page only, but not of the desired headline.

Accepted when …

• It is possible to paste deep internal links to headlines in documents and they are resolved to a WYSIWYG preview of the title of the headline.
• *bonus* Hovering a deep internal link shows the title, plus the first block after it.
