Orkas is an open-source, local-first AI desktop workspace for macOS and Windows. Use project briefs and reference files to produce research reports, documents and launch drafts. Commander coordinates specialist agents through one conversation, with reusable project instructions, memory, Library sources and skills. The core app is free; supported model providers can be connected with your own API keys, and model usage or optional services may cost extra. Workspace data is stored locally by default, while remote model and authorized tool requests send relevant inputs to the chosen services.
