Update Invoice/Quote Date update upon Send

Update Invoice/Quote Date update upon Send: Often times for us we are creating invoices and things will get added to them over the next few days or weeks, kind of like a project log. The date remains the date it was created, can this date be updated when the invoice is sent? For us we often forget and maybe we need to learn, but seems like the invoice should carry the date it was sent rather than the creation date.
