Set Due Date on Draft Save

ZIP install on Ubuntu 20, php 8
Additional context
When i create a draft invoice it shows the expected net payment terms for that client in the due date field. However when the draft is saved, this doesn't actually turn in to a date.
When I go to send the invoice the email template using the $due_date field shows todays date, and the PDF generated and attached to that email does not list a due date. I have to manually set a due date in the invoice for this to work as expected.
