Custom client area

Custom client area: I know that the CSS of the client area can be changed on a per-company basis. Is it possible to inject markup into the client area in the same way? The particular example I had in mind was adding Matomo tracking to the client area. I know I can do so by altering the template, but I'd rather not go that route if possible, as it makes upgrades more difficult.
