Suggestions for displaying folders

I have two suggestions for improving folder display, which I hope can be adopted:
If my folder contains one or more sub-items (whether they are subfolders or files), could an expand icon be displayed next to the folder?
When a folder is selected, could the right-side dropdown triangle be replaced with a '+' symbol?"
