[Feature] Revert changes to metadata
Source: immich-app/immich#11336 · opened by @ajpanton
I have searched the existing feature requests to make sure this is not a duplicate request.
• Yes
The feature
Ability to revert changes made to metadata. There's a rescan metadata, but for this to have the effect of reverting, you'd have to first manually delete the xmp file. The three-dots-dropdown menu could have an option to "revert to embedded metadata" or "delete sidecar" or something like that. Maybe the former is better, in case the sidecar contains something that's completely missing otherwise. So when reverting, the sidecar is deleted if and only if the embedded metadata can overwrite all of its contents.
