[Feature] Group photos by content similarity if they have identical timestamps
Source: immich-app/immich#23520 · opened by @davidchuyaya
I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.
• Yes
The feature
Google Photos does this thing where if multiple photos have identical timestamps, it groups them based on similarity in the timeline, like this:
<img width="1429" height="719" alt="Screenshot 2025-11-02 at 10 59 27 AM" src=" />
This comes up whenever I:
• Import photos shared on an app that strips timestamp metadata and add it back by hand (Messenger, Line, etc)
• Back up old film photos that don't have timestamps
I think it's very nice and would be cool if Immich did the same thing.
