Edited photos lose their capture date (no EXIF in the edited download)

I have searched the existing issues, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate report. • Yes The bug Hi! When I edit a photo in Immich (say, crop it) and then download it, the file I get has no EXIF at all. The capture date (DateTimeOriginal), camera and everything else are gone. The only metadata left is an ICC profile. So if you crop a photo and download it, then import it anywhere that sorts by date, it lands at the end with no date. The unedited original downloads with its full EXIF, as expected. I ran into this building Immich support into [DD Photos]( a static photo-site generator I maintain. It syncs albums from Immich and sorts each album by capture date. When I added support for edited photos, the edited files came through dateless. I worked around it in [v1.32.4]( • Download the edit with GET /api/assets/{id}/original?edited=true. • Take the date from the asset listing (POST /api/search/metadata with withExif: true).
