Add “View in timeline” directly to random/memory photos

Source: immich-app/immich#31688 · opened by @simonsjostrand
The feature

When viewing a photo that was randomly selected, for example from Memories, there should be a direct “View in timeline” action.

Currently, the workflow is:

Random/Memory photo → View similar → View in timeline

This requires an unnecessary extra step.

Suggested behavior

Add “View in timeline” directly to the photo viewer/action menu.

When selected, Immich should:

• Open the timeline at the date/time of the selected photo
• Position the selected photo in view
• Allow the user to browse the photos immediately before and after it

Use case

A very common use case is seeing a random old family photo and thinking:

“What other photos did we take around this time?”

Being able to jump directly from the random photo to its position in the timeline would make this much easier.

This would be especially useful for Memories and other features that surface individual photos outside the timeline.
