Custom Fonts do not lend themselves to be delivered via CDN
Source: elementor/elementor#22790 · opened by @dangub
Prerequisites • I have searched for similar features requests in both open and closed tickets and cannot find a duplicate. • The feature is still missing in the latest stable version of Elementor ( Elementor Pro ) What problem is your feature request going to solve? Please describe. I was excited to start using Custom Fonts, in order to be able to preload the font and avoid that extra request to a Google fonts styles. But unfortunately I discovered that: 1. The font styles have absolute URLs and so they are not getting picked up by W3TC to rewritten to point at a CDN. 2. This is a [critical CSS]( yet it's automatically delivered as a CSS file, which makes it not possible to inline the @font-face in the page. 3. And lastly, it's also not possible to change to font-display: swap (Why?! This was possible with Google Fonts!!!), and so I can't fix the PageSpeed warning to "Ensure text remains visible during webfont load" Describe the solution …
