Upsert through API

My expectation with the below request is that it would result in a) an update to a matched item or b) the creation of an item not already present.




This, however, is not the actual outcome. Instead it only updates an existing matched item or nothing happens at all.

My assumption was that an item would be created if it didn't already exist. I would love to hear whether I'm alone or not in this assumption.
