Feature Request: Built-in JavaScript Editor for Custom Logic
Source: directus/directus#26001 · opened by @josejfs
Hello Directus team 👋 First of all, congratulations on this amazing project. Directus is extremely flexible and powerful, and I really enjoy working with it. However, I would like to request a feature that could significantly improve developer productivity and customization capabilities. ✅ Feature Suggestion Add a built-in JavaScript editor inside Directus to allow writing custom JavaScript logic directly in the platform, without needing external servers or extensions. 💡 Why is this useful? It would allow creating custom behaviors for collections, webhooks, events, and data processing. Useful for simple automations and business logic between hooks (before/after create/update/delete). Ideal for those running Directus in environments where installing extensions is not practical. Similar to how platforms like n8n or Supabase provide inline scripting to extend functionality. 🎯 Possible implementation ideas JS editor with syntax highlighting Console preview…
