Add a button to switch "select item" drawer to a "create item" drawer for better user friendliness

Source: directus/directus#24930 · opened by @emahuni
Describe the Improvement

I have noticed that most times than not I first search, find nothing, then close the drawer to then add the desired item using add button in the main item page. The reason is I don't know whether the item exists or not and have to make a choice to either create or add an existing item, of which the usual logical route is to search first.

The user interaction steps, and mental load required to do this are so tedious and unnecessary especially if there is a lot of entries to work with. I often wish there was an add button right in the select drawer as follows:

When clicked, that button swaps the select drawer with a creation drawer, more like a close and open macro of this simple but tedious operation.

Adding this very simple UI tweak will greatly improve the user friendliness of Directus, as most users expect it to function this way.
