FeatureFuel ("we," "us") operates this website. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what choices you have about it.

Information we collect

  • Account information — email address, name, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text) when you register or sign in.
  • Content you provide — feature requests, comments, pledge amounts and messages, and any product information you submit.
  • Usage data — IP address and basic request metadata, used for abuse prevention (rate limiting) and kept only as long as needed for that purpose.
  • Voting activity — if you vote without an account, we assign an anonymous identifier stored in your browser, not tied to your name or email.

Cookies and local storage

We deliberately use very few cookies. Signed-in state and your own voting history are held in your browser's local storage rather than a tracking cookie, and are never sent to anyone but us. Clearing your browser's site data will sign you out.

How we use information

To operate the service: create and display feature requests, process pledges, notify product owners, detect duplicate requests, prevent abuse, and provide support when you contact us.

Who we share it with

  • Payment processing — pledges that involve real payment (not the free "trust" pledge) are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
  • Sign-in providers — if you use "Continue with Google," Google shares your name, email, and profile picture with us per your Google account settings.
  • Duplicate-request detection — the text of a new feature request may be sent to Anthropic's Claude API to check for similar existing requests. This text is not used to train models.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We keep account and content data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after deletion in case of disputes or legal requirements.

Your choices

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account by writing to us — see below. Deleting your account does not remove pledges or requests that other users have already relied on; those are anonymized instead.

Children

FeatureFuel is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date above.
